Five Blogs to Save Mom’s Sanity

Untitled2So it’s nap-time or a rare moment when my kids are otherwise occupied and I’ve got a some time to spare–I grab my coffee and settle down to see what’s going on in the mommy blogosphere. Only trouble is, this “me time” does not leave me feeling refreshed, inspired and ready to get back into the swing of things. I close my browser feeling guilty because I didn’t cook a three-course vegan dinner (for only $5.38!) for my family tonight and I don’t spend hours sewing the season’s latest fashions for my kids!

Fortunately, there are still plenty of bloggers who lead lives that I can relate to, and write blogs that help other way-too-busy moms remain sane. Here are some of the best blogs that encourage me and don’t make me feel like I’m a “bad mom”:

I Can Teach My Child

One area where many of us end up feeling guilty is when it comes to our kids’ education. Are we reading to them enough? Should we be letting them play games on the iPad? When should we start teaching them math? Janae offers simple activities that can be done to help your kids develop a multitude of skills.

Chocolate Covered Katie

I don’t know about you, but I believe that sometimes sanity comes in the form of chocolate. And there’s nothing better knowing that I can enjoy it in some form–guilt-free–everyday thanks to the delicious and healthy recipes that Katie concocts and shares with readers.

Mommy Tries

You’ve gotta love the blog’s tag line: Bringing you good-enough parenting since 2010! Finally, someone who’s honest! If you’re not in the market for a new computer, don’t drink your beverage while reading this blog: the antics and anecdotes that she shares will have you LOL for real!

Young House Love

While not really a mom blog, this is for all of us who want to redo parts–or all–of our home, but have a budget to work with. They go to prove that with some creativity and sweat equity anyone can create a home worthy of being in a top decorating magazine, while keeping it safe and kid-friendly.

Peak 313

From a busy momma practical fitness and nutrition tips plus workout plans for those of us who don’t have hours to devote to counting reps, miles and calories.

What are some of the mom blogs to keep you sane that you enjoy? Or do you have one that readers here at GCH would enjoy? Tell us in the comments!

I’m a Mom to an almost 3 year old and an 18 month old. Both amazing and beautiful baby girls! They keep me going, laughing and at times wanting to pull all my hair out…I wouldn’t change it! When I hear my 3 year old call me her super hero or listen to my 18 month old giggling, that’s my sanity!

I don’t really have any mom blogs that I check out. I am in a group of moms that all have babies born around the same time as mine, and those ladies keep me sane! (Great post and I can’t wait to order from you guys!)
